IOGCC conference coming to Oklahoma City

The Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commissionís Annual Conference will come to Oklahoma City Sept. 27-30 to celebrate its 80th anniversary.

This year's conference is in collaboration with the National Rural Water Association and Ground Water Protection Council.

The IOGCC is still seeking nominations for its Chairmanís Stewardship Awards. The awards recognize companies and organizations for exemplary efforts in environmental stewardship.

A nomination form can be found at http://iogcc.ok.gov/nomination. The deadline for nominations has been extended to July 30.

With this yearís chairman, Utah Gov. Gary R. Herbert, and 2016 incoming chairman, Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin, in attendance, the IOGCC will bring together state regulators, federal officials and oil and gas industry executives to identify emerging issues and address shared challenges.

Meeting participants will have an opportunity to engage in IOGCC activities as well as attend educational sessions and exhibits coordinated by NRWA and GWPC.
The IOGCC is also seeking local sponsorship for the event. For more information, go to iogcc.ok.gov/okc.

The IOGCCís executive director is Mike Smith, former OIPA chairman, state secretary of energy and U.S. assistant secretary of energy.
